These masks are more than mere coverings. They bond with their wearers, granting abilities while slowly influencing their thoughts and actions. Some embrace their new identities, while others fight against the transformation, seeking to maintain their humanity.

The Timeline

The Collapse (2031)

Global systems fail after years of environmental degradation and societal strain. Billions perish in the chaos that follows.

The Carnival Appears (2033)

Survivors report strange lights and music in the wasteland. Those who follow find the carnival—a haven of resources and relative safety.

The Masking (2034)

As more survivors join the carnival, the entity reveals its price: all must wear masks that cannot be removed. Those who refuse are cast out.

Faction Wars (2040-Present)

As the carnival grows, different ideologies emerge. Some embrace their masks, others seek to break free, and some wish to expand the carnival's influence to the outside world.
